Special Programs Our students learn

Street College of Education, we developed an experimental classroom for the sixth grade
which focuses on interdisciplinary learning techniques. |
With Lehman College and Borough of
Manhattan Community College we provide tutoring, advanced classes and teacher training
workshops in science and math and with City College have introduced the SPICE program to
attract and prepare girls for careers in science and engineering. BMC also provides
special art classes for seniors and, Doing Art Together brings arts programming to the
middle school. A new project, with the Studio Museum is providing African story telling
for the elementary school and "The Talking Drum" is one of our own integrative
learning collaborations which uses drums to demonstrate math concepts as well as teach its
cultural significance as a form of communication among tribal societies.
