The Choir's program is its Support Network for Students. The Counseling Department acts as
our Human Resources arm; it is the linchpin for all services, liaison to artistic and
academic staff, parents, and administration, and link to local community resources.

Counseling maintains the integrity of the entire program and supports individual students
and families in all aspects of their lives, not just in school. Counselors provide
individual sessions, group meetings, walk in services, and workshops, and deal with issues
such as parent-child conflicts, peer pressure, stress, and relationships. They monitor
student behavior and attitudes, social, communication and peer group interaction skills.
Counseling analyzes student records, attendance rates, grades, report cards, test scores
and staff observations to derive a picture of each child's skill level and standing. They
compile overall evaluations of the entire student body - their progress, level of
accomplishment and needs, and determine the resources and procedures to be implemented to
strengthen achievement, attendance and retention.
